Born during the lockdown period, the company set out to tackle the pressing issue of carbon emissions from traditional delivery methods while empowering local retailers to sell online and deliver efficiently.

Their groundbreaking logistics platform focuses on sustainability by utilizing electric bikes, mopeds, and vehicles for fast, CO2-free deliveries, addressing the growing demand for environmentally conscious services. Onelivery’s unique promise? Deliver locally with zero carbon emissions.

Origin: inspired by experience and opportunity

The seeds for Onelivery were sown during Adriano’s MBA program and his decade-long career in software engineering. He recognized a crucial issue: local retailers, especially small businesses, lacked the tools to sell online effectively. While food and groceries were quickly accessible, critical items like medication often weren’t. The rise of e-commerce presented a massive opportunity, but delivering goods sustainably and efficiently remained a challenge.

Driven by these insights, Adriano and his team devised a solution that combined technology and sustainability. Starting modestly with just four team members, Onelivery has since grown into a 20-person powerhouse, completing over 45,000 critical deliveries and now handling north of 2,000 orders monthly. Remarkably, the company has achieved this growth without spending a single penny on marketing, relying instead on organic word-of-mouth referrals.

Onelivery’s platform is both a marketplace and a logistics solution for local businesses. It allows retailers—particularly those without e-commerce capabilities—to sell online and offer fast deliveries. They also collaborate with businesses already in e-commerce, enabling them to tap into Onelivery’s sustainable delivery network. The solution is more than just an app; it’s a comprehensive service that includes an online marketplace, real-time order tracking, and a commitment to reducing emissions.

Adriano explains:

We’re the first complete solution for sustainable last-mile delivery in London.

The company has already made significant strides in specialized markets, particularly the pharmaceutical industry. Onelivery partners with major hospitals like Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and Saint George’s Hospital in London to deliver critical medications quickly and sustainably. Currently operating in 25 London districts and supporting over 60 businesses, including pharmacies, the platform is designed to scale sustainably. It is also preparing to expand into sectors like clothing and beauty.

Onelivery’s success stems not only from its innovative technology but also from the relationships it fosters, such as its collaboration with Infobip.

The partnership began at the Web Summit in 2023, where Onelivery sought a solution for real-time communication with customers. Infobip’s SMS messaging services proved to be the perfect fit, allowing them to send timely updates about delivery statuses. The collaboration was instrumental in scaling their service.

The Infobip Startup Tribe team provided seamless support during the integration process, helping Onelivery connect their platform with Infobip’s SMS services. Adriano emphasized the importance of this partnership, saying:

It’s not just about the product; it’s about the connections you make, the human element of business. Infobip helped us tremendously; we wouldn’t be where we are without that support.

The system’s integration ensures real-time updates for customers, enhancing transparency and convenience. This, in turn, boosts customer satisfaction.

The future for Onelivery is as ambitious as its beginnings. The company is now focusing on expansion, both in the UK and internationally. After consolidating its presence in London, Onelivery plans to grow its services nationwide before branching out to other countries.

Their next milestones involve securing additional funding to enhance infrastructure, grow the team, and improve software capabilities. The ultimate vision? Achieve 100 million CO2-free deliveries, transforming the way people shop and businesses operate.
