Education in India has long struggled with a gap between traditional academic learning and industry requirements, leaving many graduates unprepared for real-world jobs. Outdated curricula, a focus on rote memorization, and limited access to practical experience have made it difficult for students to develop relevant skills. ByteCampus actively works on solving this issue.

Startup: addressing the education-industry gap
ByteCampus is an innovative platform that’s helping to bridge the gap between traditional education and the rapidly evolving needs of industries in India. Founded with a clear mission to address the lack of industry-relevant skills among students and the outdated knowledge of professors, ByteCampus offers affordable, expert-led education through a subscription model ($5–$29/month) and connects students with real-world opportunities like internships and job placements at startups.
Their mission is to match talent with opportunity, empowering students and helping startups find skilled talent at a fraction of the usual cost. With a focus on social impact, they reinvest their profits into education rather than pursuing financial gain, aiming to transform the job market by making education more practical, accessible, and connected to the needs of the industry.
As founder Akash Jha puts it:
Talent is everywhere, but opportunities are not. Our goal is to match the talent with the opportunity.
Origin: from small cafés to a nationwide movement
The story began as a grassroots movement four years ago with small gatherings in cafés, where the concept of accessible education started to take shape. Previously known as Learn10x, the current name “ByteCampus” itself reflects the core philosophy of breaking down learning into small, digestible parts, much like bytes of data.

In less than a year, ByteCampus has grown significantly, reaching over 10,000 students across India and offering real-world education in fields like technology, finance, and business. Despite facing challenges in securing college partnerships, as traditional institutions feared losing control over students, they have forged strategic collaborations with major colleges across India.
The company now employs 23 full-time staff members and engages a network of 75 key community members who help manage student interactions across the country. Students elect their own leaders in a decentralized system, helping manage and grow the initiative. While these leaders aren’t employees, they play a crucial role in expanding ByteCampus’s reach and impact.
It’s not just a business; it’s a movement

Solution: founders as teachers, real-world learning
What truly sets ByteCampus apart is its focus on real-world learning. Instead of relying on traditional professors, ByteCampus invites successful startup founders—who have built businesses generating over $100 million in revenue—to teach. This ensures that students learn directly from those who have real, hands-on experience in scaling profitable businesses.
Rather than relying on theoretical lessons, they emphasize critical thinking and problem-solving to prepare students for real-world challenges. The goal is to help students think like entrepreneurs, not just job seekers.
To make this model sustainable, the founders-turned-teachers are compensated for their time, ensuring consistent, high-quality education. Additionally, they offer CareerSetu, a free platform that helps students assess their skills and connect with startups for internships and job opportunities, further bridging the gap between education and employment.
Recently, they also launched an exciting initiative to promote AI literacy, making it accessible to everyone and empowering students with the knowledge they need to succeed in a rapidly evolving technological world.
Tribe: beyond communication
Akash shares:
I didn’t even know about Infobip at first, I was just looking for an RCS partner, filled out a form, and suddenly got a call.
That initial outreach marked the beginning of a valuable partnership. ByteCampus now relies on Infobip’s services to streamline communication through SMS and WhatsApp, ensuring they can reach students in a timely and efficient manner. Through the Infobip Startup Tribe program, they were able to implement these communication solutions for free. The team has praised Infobip’s local support, and as ByteCampus continues to scale, they plan to expand the use of these services to further improve student engagement.

What’s next: a nationwide impact
ByteCampus has big plans for the future as they are focused on creating a streamlined platform that helps startups easily find and hire top talent.
In addition, they are working on launching their own ByteCampus University, which will provide students with a physical space to collaborate with startups and gain hands-on experience.
The vision is to create a space where students from all backgrounds can come together, learn, and work towards building a better future. And we’re proud to support them.
